Project description
The former Scheringa Museum in Opmeer has been given a new purpose under the name Licht op Meer. Where the building stood empty for many years, it has now been completely transformed into a modern residential complex with owner-occupied and rented homes.
In collaboration with Bijster Bouw and to the design of Enzo Architecture, SPARQ Balustrades provided and installed various balustrade solutions. Our contribution included:
Glass balustrades along the voids with V-Line profiles and wooden handrails.
Balustrades in the main stairs with glass in double stringers and wooden handrails.
U-Line Top balustrades with aluminium hand rails for the balconies, walkways and outdoor areas.
With these high-quality solutions, we contribute to a safe, comfortable and contemporary living environment, matching the building's unique architecture and history.

At the Oosterzijderpark project in Zaandam, SPARQ Balustrades supplied the fall-through screens in 2022. These were fitted with point holders, which were used by client Kumij to attach the screens safely and aesthetically to the plastic window frames.

Project Description
For Kroonzicht in Nieuw Vennep, SPARQ Balustrades took care of the complete supply and assembly of various balustrade solutions. Commissioned by De Geus Bouw and designed by Enzo Architectuur, we realised this project, which was completed in 2022.
Our contribution consisted of:
- Glass balustrades with U-Line side profile and cover cap on balconies and in stairwells
- Privacy screens for extra comfort and shielding
- Bar railings and banisters for safety and functionality
- French balcony screens, suitably integrated into the facade.
With this mix of glass, steel and bespoke solutions, the balustrades provide a safe and contemporary look that perfectly complements the building's architecture.

Project Description
310 metres of glass balustrade | Y-Line profile | Completion 2024
A modern and inspiring learning environment has been created on Leiden University's Science Campus with the expansion of the Gorlaeus Building. Phase 2A adds 30,000 m² to the existing complex and houses lecture rooms, laboratories, workplaces, a library and a brasserie, among other things. The connection to phase 1 creates a coherent whole of over 76,000 m² with a new main entrance on Rosalind Franklin Square.
SPARQ Balustrades made an essential contribution to the spatial experience and safety in the building.
In cooperation with Qbiq Wall Systems we provided 310 metres of glass balustradeexecuted in the sleek Y-Line profile. The balustrades are placed along voids and walkways scattered throughout the building and contribute to the transparent and open architecture characteristic of this project.

De Geus Bouw commissioned us to realise various curved glass balustrades and the steel main staircase for the sustainable and architecturally striking office building of Bejo Zaden in Warmenhuizen. The balustrades are made of the U-Line Top system on steel brackets, with different radii to fit seamlessly into the organic shapes of the building. Designed by Me-2 architects BNA, this is a project where aesthetics, functionality and sustainability go hand in hand.
