SPARQ, nice to meet you!

SPARQ develops, supplies and installs high-quality solutions in glass, steel and aluminium. Our foundation lies in all-glass balustrades, through which we have built a strong position in the Dutch construction market. We are now expanding our activities with steel balustrades, staircases and aluminium window and door systems.

From Heerenveen, we work on a variety of projects in the Netherlands, Belgium and increasingly beyond. We combine our own product development, engineering, production, delivery and assembly. This integrated approach gives us significant influence over quality, innovation and sustainability.

With a team of around 20 colleagues, we work on technically challenging projects every day. Communication lines are short, responsibility lies low within the organisation, and good ideas are given the space they need. We are skilled professionals who are proud of our work and constantly seek better solutions for our clients.

Due to the growth of our organisation and the expansion of our activities, we are looking for an independent estimator who can combine technical and commercial skills and wants to actively contribute to the further development of SPARQ.

Jorrit: ‘you are the link between technology and business’

As a cost estimator, you are the first within the organisation to view and assess new construction projects. You combine your technical knowledge of the feasibility of details and construction logistics with your commercial skills in dealing with clients and developing market-compliant quotes.

It is a role in which you lay an important foundation for the commercial success of SPARQ, but on the other hand, you also make important preparations for the successful technical execution of projects.

As SPARQ is continuously developing, you will also be given the opportunity to help build new product groups, calculation methods, processes and commercial opportunities. Therefore, you are not just a calculator, but actively contribute to the future of our organisation.

The function

As a cost estimator, you are responsible for the commercial and technical assessment of new requests. You maintain contact with clients, assess tender requests, prepare calculations and quotations, and manage the handover of secured projects to the execution team.

Once a potential client sends us a request for a quote, your work as a calculator begins. You start with an initial screening and assessment of the project. Which of our products is being requested and is the project a good fit for us? You then determine with your colleagues from sales and execution the best way to offer and carry out this project. You will coordinate this with the client, architect, and potentially our network of partners.

Next, you will start setting up a calculation. To do this, you will determine quantities and necessary materials. You will decide on the configuration of the proposed solution and consider efficient execution, construction logistics, and assembly.

Depending on the project, this may involve glass balustrades, steel balustrades, staircases or aluminium window and door systems. Based on this, you will draw up price estimates and cost calculations. In doing so, you will work closely with suppliers and the structural engineer. Finally, you will turn this calculation into a detailed quotation and send it to our clients.

Once you and your fellow salespeople have secured the order, you will process it in our systems. This involves preparing the production, assembly, and purchasing budgets, and handling the financial and substantive handover of the secured order to the execution team.

Naturally, in addition to the above, we ask you to organise your work efficiently. You will maintain the system, contribute ideas for improvements to our calculation methods, and keep our sales statistics up to date.
