The Warehouse at Groningen

Project Description

For the former V&D distribution building on Groningen's Rode Weeshuisstraat, MWPO developed The Warehouse together with Beauvast. A downright ode to the reconstruction architecture. Industrial style and comfortable luxury come together perfectly here.

From the 1st floor, we created 24 compact, luxury flats spread over four floors. Horizontal window strips and French balconies provide plenty of light and experience. The concrete construction sets the tone for the unique loft-like interior.

The ground floor and basement have been transformed into an attractive space with lots of glass. The building has been given an open plinth, so to speak, which contributes to the liveliness of the city. Large voids behind the glass facade connect the basement with the ground floor and the street. On both levels, Laif & Nuver has opened its new Soulstore. The visible concrete construction gives the space a light industrial character.

In this project, SPARQ realised the glass balustrades, both with point holders and based on our U-Line Top profile, the French balconies based on our J-Line system and some privacy screens.
